Community Guidelines
Effective: April 13, 2026
Calda's community is a safe, supportive space for women navigating menopause, perimenopause, and postmenopause. Whether you're dealing with hot flashes at 2am, figuring out HRT options, or just need someone who gets it — you belong here.
These guidelines exist to keep this space warm, honest, and genuinely helpful. They're not about policing what you say — they're about making sure everyone feels comfortable enough to share.
The Rules
1. Share experiences, not medical advice
Saying "I switched to estradiol patches and my hot flashes improved" is sharing your experience. Saying "You should stop taking progesterone" is medical advice. You're not a doctor — and even if you are, this isn't a clinical setting. Share what worked for you, and let others make their own decisions with their own healthcare providers.
2. Be kind and respectful
We're all in this together. Menopause is hard enough without someone being rude about it. Treat every person here the way you'd want to be treated on your worst symptom day. Disagree respectfully. Encourage generously. Assume good intentions.
3. No harassment, bullying, discrimination, or personal attacks
Zero tolerance. This includes mocking someone's symptoms, dismissing their experience, targeting someone based on their identity, or any form of intimidation. If someone's experience is different from yours, that's okay — it doesn't make theirs less valid.
4. No promoting supplements, products, or services
We know you found a magnesium supplement that changed your life, and you can mention that in the context of sharing your experience. But don't post affiliate links, promote a business, sell products, or recommend specific brands repeatedly. If it sounds like a sales pitch, it doesn't belong here.
5. No sharing others' personal health information
What someone shares in this community is their story to tell. Do not screenshot, copy, or share another member's posts or health details outside of Calda. Respect their trust.
6. No spam or commercial content
No advertisements, chain messages, repetitive posts, fundraising links, surveys, or promotional content of any kind. This space is for real conversations, not marketing.
7. Keep it relevant
The Calda community is focused on menopause, perimenopause, postmenopause, HRT, and related wellness topics. Off-topic posts may be removed to keep the community focused and useful for everyone.
8. Respect privacy
What's shared here stays here. Many members share deeply personal health experiences. Honor that vulnerability by keeping community conversations within the community. Do not share, repost, or reference someone's posts outside of Calda without their explicit permission.
How Moderation Works
We want to keep this community safe without making it feel like you're being watched. Here's how we do it:
- AI review: All posts and comments are reviewed by AI moderation before they become visible to the community. This usually takes just a few seconds.
- Automatic flagging: Content that may violate these guidelines is automatically flagged. Flagged content may be held for human review or removed automatically depending on severity.
- Human oversight: Our team reviews flagged content and moderation decisions regularly to ensure fairness.
- Transparency: If your post is removed, you'll be notified with an explanation of which guideline was violated.
How to Report Content
If you see something that doesn't feel right — a post that gives dangerous advice, a comment that feels like harassment, or anything that violates these guidelines — please report it.
- Tap the three-dot menu on any post or comment.
- Select "Report."
- Choose the reason that best describes the issue.
- Submit. You can add additional context if you'd like.
All reports are reviewed, and your identity is never revealed to the person you reported.
Consequences
We believe in giving people a chance to course-correct, but we also believe in protecting the community. Here's how we handle violations:
- Warning: For first-time or minor violations, we'll send you a private notification explaining what happened and how to avoid it in the future.
- Temporary suspension: For repeated violations or more serious issues, your community access may be temporarily suspended. You'll still be able to use all other Calda features.
- Permanent ban: For severe violations — including harassment, hate speech, or dangerous medical misinformation — your community access may be permanently revoked.
Severe violations (threats, doxxing, sharing explicit content) may result in an immediate permanent ban without prior warning.
A Final Thought
This community exists because menopause can feel isolating, and it shouldn't. Every post you write, every experience you share, every word of encouragement you offer — it matters. You're helping someone else feel less alone.
Thank you for being part of this.
